Our Philosophy of Care

Providing the Highest Level of Consumer Direct Care and Promoting Individual Preferences and Desires while Maintaining Health and Safety Practices and Standards

Our experienced, licensed, and trained staff honor the dignity and respect the rights of consumers by supporting their decisions, choices, and judgments, and when health or safety issues present a challenge, we take the time to listen to the consumer, to offer reasons and alternatives, so they may make healthy and safe choices based on informed decision making.

Our Agency Direct Care Staff provides prescribed services that demonstrate an agency-wide appreciation of our consumers reaching their personal goals of independence and choice. We promote and advocate making their own decisions about performing their daily life tasks and engaging in community events and activities for the level of independence. We demonstrate our commitment to this principle by listening to the consumers, supporting their decisions and choices while using informed decision-making when choices may interfere with health and safety concerns, and engaging in positive risk-taking to support increased independence and activity preferences.

From top to bottom, including consumers, stakeholders, staff, and the governing body, we are on a mission of continuous quality improvement: We are creating a culture and an environment that focuses on engaging with members and stakeholders to better understand and meet their needs and on gathering regular feedback to improve satisfaction levels. The Governing Body has appointed the CEO, and the CEO has delegated to a Quality Improvement Team and a Team Manager to carry out the plan, conduct the activities prescribed in the QI Process, and make and report recommendations in an action plan.
